Traditional Russian Arts & Crafts: Wood Painting.

Thursday, 12 August 2010.

This creative course will introduce you to the techniques and history of traditional Russian decorative wood painting. For the duration of the course you will be engaged into a number of creative projects: painting of wooden items such as traditional Russian spoons, plates and a small piece of furniture, that you will turn into works of art. Wood painting techniques are easy to learn, with no prior experience necessary.

Tutor: Antony Gibbon.
Duration of the course: 3 consecutive Thursdays, 18.00 – 21.00.
Price: £150
Venue: Pushkin House.
Language: in English, with Russian translation, if required.

Open Evening – 15th July

This month we will host an Open Evening on Thursday, 15th July from 17:00. The Evening will take place at Pushkin House (5a Bloomsbury Square, London, WC1A 2TA) .

In the programme:

• Creative master classes;
• Exhibition of graduate art works and traditional Russian art;
• Presentations, talks and a Russian tea ceremony.
